Footnotes
PAYNE off the pace and the inside, closer four wide turning for home, vied past the furlong marker, wore down rival late to narrowly prevail. W W SCOUT'S HONOR broke on top, within striking distance up the backstretch three wide, challenged late in the turn, dueled with the winner past the furlong marker, outkicked in the late going inside the winner, clear of the rest. MAJOR BLUE with the pace while off the inside, vied between horses late in the turn, could not keep up with the top two in the drive, saved the show. GOT THUNDER forwardly placed along the inside, remained within striking distance turn while continuing to save ground, steered to the outside nearing the furlong grounds, lacked a closing punch through the lane. WILLTORUN fell back to trail along the inside before a half, improved by cutting the corner into the lane, flattened out in the final furlong. MR BOB in mid pack while racing off the inside, three wide into the lane, also lacked a significant closing response. MACRON hesitated at the break to spot the field a couple of lengths, raced back, five wide into the lane, remained back. BRON AND BROW back off the pace and the inside, steadied in some traffic in the three path turning into the stretch, lacked response when clear. SOUND DOCTRINE broke well, narrowly set the pace for a half along the inside, gave way when headed turning for home.
