Footnotes
CLASS PRESIDENT away in good order, pressed the issue early off the inside, fell back a bit in chasing the leader in the run up the backstretch, went back after that one midway on the second bend, took command, held a slim advantage past the furlong marker as the runner up came calling, headed by that one with a sixteenth to run, found more inside of that rival, dug in late to narrowly prevail in a game effort. SILENT TACTIC outrun in the early going toward the inside, began to creep closer in the second turn in the two path, tipped out four wide when mounting a charge turning into the stretch, outside bid past the furlong marker, put a head in front with a half a furlong to run, outgamed in the late going to miss. LITMUS TEST narrowly showed the way into the first turn while closest to the inside of a busy first flight, shook clear before a half, continued to show the way into the far turn, vied into the lane then proved no match for the top two the final furlong. BLACKOUT TIME broke well, raced within striking distance while three wide, continued in good position into the final turn, asked along soon after, lacked a serious closing kick to finish up in even fashion. SOLDIER N DIPLOMAT broke out and back, six wide into the first turn when fanned out across the race track, fell back to trail early, continued to lack speed with a half mile to run, improved position off the inside gradually while not a serious threat. STRATEGIC RISK in mid pack while off the inside, moved closer while four wide through the final turn then flattened out through the stretch, lost whip midstretch. HONEY'S TO BLAME three wide entering the first turn, dropped inside, saved ground to no avail second turn, had nothing for the drive. RANCHO SANTA FE five wide into the first turn, raced in the main group outside, was finished after five furlongs. TIME FOR MUSIC was also finished early, trailed most of the way to be always outrun.
