Footnotes
BATTEN DOWN was keen around the first turn, pulled to set the pace in the two path going down the home stretch for the first time, stayed just off the rail around the second turn, drew away up the backstretch, was cued along the inside midway around the final turn, and kicked away down the shortened lane to be much the best. CATCHING FREEDOM trailed in the three path early, split foes while coming under a ride from the two path going into the final turn, ranged up under a drive turning into the stretch, then flattened but was clearly second best. OTELLO pulled to prompt the pace along the rail around the first turn, angled out to the three path entering the home stretch for the first time, continued from there turning up the backstretch, lost ground while coming under a ride with a half mile left, continued in the three path around the final turn, faded while drifting out down the lane, but held show. ARCHIE THE GIZA tracked inside, got put to a drive along the rail early around the final turn, floated out to the six path at the top of the short stretch, but weakened. SYSTEMIC CHANGE stalked in the three path but lost ground under a ride rounding the final turn, and weakened down the lane. QUALITY CHIC was held up between foes in the two path early but retreated up the backstretch, then was eased down the shortened lane and walked off.
