OTTO THE CONQUEROR broke alertly, narrowly set a pressured pace in the two path up the backstretch, dropped inside early turn, gained a slightly larger advantage briefly entering the stretch, dug in when confronted by the runner soon after, dueled with that one to the wire, finished with good determination to prove best. SURVEILLANCE pressed the winner early from along the inside, fell back early in the turn, crept closer in some traffic exiting the bend, tipped out a bit into the two path, rebid past the furlong marker, turned back while drifting out late. OSCAR ECLIPSE behind the pace toward the inside up the backstretch, advanced and was carried out to the five path while brushing with an inner foes entering the stretch, continued to creep closer outside the runner up, floated out by that one late while closing the gap for the second spot. GHOST OF MIDNIGHT broke out, raced back off the leaders, three wide through the turn, staged a mild rally to better his position. LUNAR MODULE bothered at the start to be off a step slow, continued back, four wide into the lane, also improved position a bit in the final furlong. EMPIRE BUILDER broke in, raced forwardly the opening quarter widest of the first flight, four wide into the turn, tired in the drive. SINNER'S SIN pressured the pace while in the three path and between rivals early, appeared to be tiring slightly when put in tight and brushed turning for home, continued to weaken. BRON AND BROW remained always back while racing in the two path.
