PARCHMENT PARTY back off the early pace outside, moved closer before a mile while moving out a bit, vied three to four path into the stretch, long drive, brushed past the furlong marker, dug in late to prove best in game fashion. JOKESTAR prompted the leader from the outside while firmly in hand, fell off that one a bit early on the backstretch the second time, crept closer into the final turn, vied between horses and inside the winner into the stretch, tight tight, brushed with a furlong remaining, outkicked by the winner late while edging clear for the second spot. FORGED STEEL broke well, set the pace while in hand toward the inside, continued to show the way up the backstretch a second time responded when joined by the top pair in the final turn, raced on equal terms with those two into the stretch, drifted out slightly with a furlong remaining, could not match strides the final sixteenth, well clear of the others. TRACKING ERROR forwardly placed early outside the leader, fell back the middle half mile, three wide final turn, could not get back to the first flight in the run to the wire. HAPPY STRIKE a bit unruly loading, raced forwardly early, began a steady retreat before a mild. COMPTON off a step show, trailed throughout and was never involved.
