FOUR YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD. By subscription of $100 each which shall accompany the nomination, $5,000 to pass the entry box and $5,000 additional to start. Supplementary nominations may be made by Friday, April 13, 2024 at $500. $1,250,000 Guaranteed. Af ter paying 2.5% of original purse to the owners of horses finishing 6th through last, 60% of the remaining purse will be paid to owner(s) of the winner, 20% to second, 10% to third, 6% to fourth and 4% to fourth. Weights to be announced Saturday, April1 3, 2024. In Handicap Stakes starting preference will be given to high weights. Starters to be named through the entry box by the usual time of closing. The Oaklawn Handicap has been chosen as part of the Win Today, See You In May Series. The winneer of the Oaklawn Handicap will receive a guaranteed spot in the starting gate for the Pimlico Special at Pimlico Race Course. In addition, the winner of the Oaklawn Handicap will have all nomination, start and entry fees will be waived for The Pimlico Spec ial. The Owner of the winner to receive a trophy. Closed Saturday, April 6, 2024 with 29 nominations.

SKIPPYLONGSTOCKING closest to the leader while outside following a solid break, continued to prompt that one up the backstretch, engaged that same rival midway on the final turn, quickly clear into the lane, maintained daylight to the wire under steady handlinbg. HIGHLAND FALLS settled along the inside, steered out three wide when mounting an advance late in the final turn, finished willingly to be well clear of the rest, no real threat to the winner. RED ROUTE ONE void of early foot inside, continued to save ground second turn, steered out in the two path around a tiring rival, rallied up the inside through the stretch to annex the show, no match for the top pair. REINCARNATE settled off the pace and the inside, raced three to four wide out of the final turn, lacked a serious closing response. MAGIC TAP in mid pack while racing toward the inside, moved a bit closer while steering three wide into the lane, encountered traffic past the furlong marker, finished up evenly when clear. LAST SAMURAI broke back, lacked speed, four wide when showing some mild interest into the lane, continued mildly to the end to improve position. OCTANE forwardly placed along the inside, continued with contact of the leaders far turn, had little left for the drive. COUNTY FINAL broke alertly, set the early pace while along the inside, weakened when headed by the winner in the second turn. INSTANT COFFEE in mid pack and outside, four to three wide in the second turn, faded in the drive. GUNTOWN finished early while racing three down to four wide, no threat.. DOUBLE CROWN broke back, moved closer along the inside, gave way after five furlongs.
