TAKEN ON THE RUN unhurried early along the inside, improved position significantly by cutting the corner on the field into the lane, challenged along the inside past the furlong marker, dueled to the wire, proved narrowly best in determined fashion. TASK in mid pack while just outside the winner, angled out four wide as that one was saving ground into the lane, challenged nearing midstretch, dueled to the wire, outkicked in the final strides. TIME ANDBEYOND lacked early foot just off the inside, came two to three wide into the stretch, staged a mild rally while remaining out in the strip to be up in the final jump for the show, not a serious threat to the top pair. MIDNIGHT WHIRL broke well, showed the way early well out in the strip, worked way to the inside by early in the turn, continued to set the pace into the lane, began to weaken with a furlong remaining, nipped late for the third spot. COOL UNDER FIRE prompted the issue up front for a half just off the inside, challenged and put a head in front in upper stretch, had little left in the final furlong when faltering. EXTRACT'S ARROW void of speed off the rail, swung out five to six wide into the lane, managed little in the way of a closing kick while widest through the lane. STORMBENDER in the main body while four wide, checked up with four furlongs remaining to avoid a stricken rival late backstretch, continued in the four path through the turn, lacked a closing punch. GRAY TAPS behind the pace along the inside early, moved out to be three wide for the turn, in some traffic late in the bend then faded through the stretch. BUTCH forwardly placed early while off the inside, shortened stride midway up the backstretch, was pulled up and vanned off.
