Footnotes
PIKE PLACE broke back, lagged well off the pace for five furlongs, swept up into contention four wide second turn, took command entering the stretch, clear when straightened for home, enough left to hold off the next two. EXPECT THE BEST in mid pack while off the inside, moved closer late in the second turn as the winner was sweeping up to the front, angled in past the furlong marker, slowly getting to that rival in the late going while persevering for the place. DR. STORM off a beat slow, trailed well back early as a result, four to five wide when beginning to rally out of the final turn, found best stride to late while getting to the top pair late. MAXIMUM PROMISE settled off the pace while inside, advanced a bit while continuing to save ground second turn,. went evenly through the lane to pose no threat to the top three. ELEVEN BRAVO with the pace while between horses in the first turn, chased the leader the middle half mile, had little left for the stretch run. TROUBLE AHEAD vied into and through the first turn, got clear before a quarter, continued to show the way into the far turn, weakened when headed by the winner with a quarter mile remaining. MISTER MULDOON helped set the early pace along the inside, stopped after a half, finished far back.
