Footnotes
WINTER'S GHOST angled toward the inside when showing the way past the wire the first time, continued to set the pace while firmly in hand, responded when challenged in the second turn to duel, put that rival away, headed by the runner up just inside the furlong grounds, dug in late to battle back and narrowly prevail. EMBER settled off the pace while in hand and toward the inside, angled out to be four wide when beginning to advance late second turn, lost some ground to the leaders into the lane, got to that group while widest with a furlong to run, briefly put a head in front before the winner battled back at the wire to gain the nod. GEE NO HOLLANDER within striking distance off the inside, roused late in the final turn, moved closer in upper stretch, hung in the final furlong while saving the show. ELDON'S PRINCE back off the pace while outside, four to five wide out of the final turn, displayed some mild interest out in the strip to improve position a bit, not a serious threat. GLOBAL EMPIRE forwardly placed while saving ground throughout, had little for the stretch. PATCH O'BRIEN pressed the issue three wide in the first turn and onto the backstretch, closer and dueled through the second bend, gave way from between foes upper stretch. FIGHT'N READY last to leave, lacked speed, four wide into the far turn, lacked a closing response. DENINGTON in mid pack while racing off the inside, backed up through the stretch.
