AMERICAN LAW broke well, allowed the two leaders to go early, chased that duel up the backstretch and into the far turn, moved closer and challenged in the three path turning for home, long drive to the wire, proved game to narrowly prevail at the wire. DR. STORM unhurried for almost six furlongs toward the inside, swung out and swept up toward the front five wide turning for home, challenged outside the winner with over a sixteenth to run, long drive to the wire, outfinished in the final strides to miss. EMPIRE BUILDER bumped at the start then was unruly in the early going when dueling, continued to alternate up front onto and up the backstretch, put the other speed away to be briefly clear early in the final turn, was joined by the top two soon after, vied inside those two into the stretch, weakened the final furlong but remained clear of the others. HAPPY STRIKE settled within striking distance early inside, worked way out to the three path late in the final turn, lacked a closing response. HESS last away, devoid of speed inside, steered to the outside turning for home, displayed a modest amount of late interest to improve position. PAPA YO made little impact while racing toward the inside. ALTERNATE REALITY lacked early foot, lodged a mild middle move three wide, faltered in the drive. GEWURZTRAMINER broke out, bumped EMPIRE BUILDER, was rubbed by that one soon after, dueled inside that same rival for just under six furlongs to the inside and began to give way, continued to fade stretch. STRIKE RIDGE was finished after half.
