Footnotes
COUPERIN came in just after the break to tighten up ETERNALLY GRATEFUL, raced never far back, prompted the winner into the far turn, challenged between horses soon after, long drive, fully extended to prove best. SWISS GUARD broke on top, cleared to the two path first turn, pace, saved ground second turn, responded when challenged by the winner late in that bend, dueled, proved stubborn to the end. DUAL MONARCHY broke back, six down to five wide in mid pack through the first turn, advanced into contention four wide the middle half mile, chased the top two in vain through the stretch, narrowly saved the show. METATRON'S MUSE settled behind the pace inside, continued to track while saving ground, lacked a serious closing response. SPEIGHTSTER RED settled in mid pack while just off the inside, mid pack and firmly in hand, lacked a closing response. WORDS OF WISDOM pulled and was a bit rank ,the opening three furlongs, second flight in the run up the backstretch while between horses, went evenly through the lane. ETERNALLY GRATEFUL pinched just after the start, raced near the back under firm restraint, continued in hand through the second turn and into the lane, improved position with some mild, belated interest. BEN FRANKLIN hesitated at the start to spot the field a couple of lengths, raced back for six furlongs, improved into the lane by picking off a couple of tiring rivals then failed to continue that betterment the final furlong. LEMON DROP SHOT in mid pack for six furlongs, tired in the drive. PROVEN ADVOCATE four to five wide early in the first turn, remained always back. CAMP DADDY forwardly placed four wide first turn, gave way after a half. TWIRLING TROILLET stopped after four furlongs and finished far back, jogged in.
