Footnotes
BANK SHOT pressed the pace three deep in the early going, took over on the backstretch and cleared and crossed over into the far turn, met the bid from WOLF HILL late on that bend, drifted out while dueling down the lane, bumped WOLF HILL late and was able to hold on. WOLF HILL pressed the pace from between rivals, stalked BANK SHOT past the half-mile pole, challenged from outside late on the far turn, drifted out in the lane while battling with BANK SHOT, got bumped in the final twenty yards and could not get by. GETTING CLOSER trailed from the rail then moved to the two path around the clubhouse turn, angled out on the second bend, came four wide into the lane and bested the rest. SOUL SISTER rated along the inside behind leader early, stayed next to the fence into the far turn, chased between at the five-sixteenths marker and got outkicked for the show honors. BANZAI BETTY trailed four then three wide early, stayed off the rail up the backstretch, steered out to the five path on the far turn and weakened. MISS WATERMELON broke a step slow, stalked three wide around the first turn, remained in the three path on the second bend while losing ground and weakened in the drive. SOUNDS LUCKY took control in the two path then moved inside while under pressure from a pair of rivals, lost command midway up the backstretch, chased after the new leader into the far turn, faded around the bend, eased in the lane and walked off. THERE WAS AN INQUIRY INVOLVING BANK SHOT AND WOLF HILL LATE IN THE RACE. THE STEWARDS UNANIMOUSLY RULED THAT BOTH HORSES CONTRIBUTED TO THE INCIDENT AND THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE.
