HEADSTRONG WAYS had to steady when losing a clear path early, chased three deep into the turn, moved to the four path around the bend, challenged four deep at the top of the lane, overtook LENA LINDGARD past the eighth pole and won going away. LENA LINDGARD stalked the top pair outside a rival, was ridden along in the three path on the turn, bid three deep exiting the bend, carried a narrow lead into the final furlong but was no match for the winner in the late stages. A TOAST TO LANIE dueled from inside up the backstretch and around the turn, fought with outer trio in upper stretch, weakened in the furlong grounds but was able to save third. TIGER FIRE dueled from outside, vied between rivals in upper stretch and weakened. SELSAE allowed to settle at the back, paused briefly then angled to the inside, steadied inside a rival entering the turn, continued on the fence to the stretch and improved position down the lane. WALK'N THE BEACH chased along the inside into the turn, eased off the rail around the bend and weakened down the lane. MIA MAC broke a step slow, raced off the pace two wide into the turn, moved to the three path, angled out into the stretch and failed to menace. RECKLESS OPTIMISM stalked the top pair from inside, lost ground around the bend and faded.
