RESEMBLANCE pressed from outside to the half-mile pole, dueled into and around the far turn, vied between rivals past the quarter pole, dueled inside MANIATIC (IRE) in the late stages and edged that rival for the victory. MANIATIC (IRE) broke a step slow, was a bit rank and climbed on the clubhouse turn, moved up between rivals in the middle stages, bid three deep with a quarter mile remaining, put a head in front at the eighth pole but got outkicked by RESEMBLANCE in deep stretch. CRYPTO RIDE showed the way from inside under pressure, fought on even terms through the far turn, lost command at the eighth pole and yielded to the top pair in the final sixteenth. BIG JUANITO trailed two then three wide around the clubhouse turn, passed a rival at the midway point, gained while easing off the rail to the three path on the far turn, churned on down the lane and earned a minor award. CONTRARY CHIEFTAIN stalked from inside, came out in upper stretch and lacked a bid. SPUN NOT STIRRED raced up close three wide early, continued three wide into the far turn, spun four wide into the stretch and lacked the needed response. TAISHAN tracked on the inside then two wide around the first turn, went four deep into the far turn, angled in and chased two wide exiting that bend and weakened. ELEGANT BOY dropped his head at the start to come away a bit slow, raced two then three wide near the back on the clubhouse turn, trailed outside a rival into the far turn, angled over to the rail and failed to menace.
