Footnotes
FRENCH BLUE pressed three deep to the turn, moved up on even terms around the bend, carried a short lead into the stretch, put away inner rivals outside the eighth pole, drew away midstretch and was ridden out to the wire. FEISTY RED HEAD traveled along the inside towards the rear, shifted to the two path near the quarter pole, moved out further in the lane and finished well to gain the place. PINEY WOODS was fractious in the gate, broke a step slow, climbed at the back early then went outside a rival, took the turn two then three wide, cut back in approaching the stretch, rallied through the lane and earned the show honors. ETHEREAL QUALITY was off slow to begin, went three wide into the turn, angled to the two path briefly then steered out and came five wide into the lane, kept trying down the stretch and rounded out the superfecta. KIZAZI chased the top trio from inside, tipped three wide into the lane and lacked a bid. CHERRY CIDER dueled from outside up the backstretch, fought between rivals around the turn and into the lane, yielded to the winner in upper stretch and weakened. GREYS OVER BAYS chased from inside, was coaxed along then waited behind a rival from the five-sixteenths to the quarter pole, cut the corner into the stretch and could not rally. RED CHERRY dueled inside CHERRY CIDER to to the turn, fought with outer pair around the bend, could not kick on with the winner outside the eighth pole and weakened in the furlong grounds. TOKALA stalked off the inside then outside a rival, came four wide into the stretch and faded. LADY DETECTIVE was fractious in the gate, off slow to begin, followed in range outside a pair of rivals, started to weaken late on the turn and tired.
