SWEET ODYSSEY sat well off the pace in the early going, gained three wide around the far turn, tipped out for a clear run at the top of the lane, rallied into contention, dueled outside MIDWAY LANE in deep stretch and edged the runner-up. MIDWAY LANE vied between rivals into the first turn then took a stalking position on the inside, took aim in the two path at the quarter pole, bid between rivals, took over midstretch but lost a duel to SWEET ODYSSEY in the last sixteenth. BOTH SIDES OF BAD coaxed from the gate, tracked from inside, drew closer around the far turn, stayed on the fence in the lane and gained third. IRON (FR) tracked the speed outside a rival, went three deep into the far turn, challenged from the three path turning for home, fought between in midstretch, then faltered in the late stages. LORENZO BERNINI fought for the lead inside rivals around the first turn, dueled up the backstretch, moved clear past the three-eighths pole, challenged from outside entering the lane, lost command midstretch and weakened. FIGHT BACK was off a bit slow to start, raced in the two path near the back, moved inside on the backstretch, angled out into the lane and needed to find more late. GRANDISIMO also broke a bit slow, trailed on the inside, passed tired rivals into the lane and was never a factor. WASTING ACES vied four then three deep around the first turn, dueled from outside up the backstretch, failed to kick on with the leader past the three-eighths pole, tired around the bend, eased in the lane and walked off. MISSILE CRUISER vied between rivals to the backstretch, got crowded and had to steady out of the pace battle, got shuffled back behind a tiring WASTING ACES on the far turn, eased through the lane and walked off.
