WATSONVILLE settled next to the fence, went two wide into the far turn, drew closer while easing over to the three path around the bend, rallied three deep into the final sixteenth and edged BALLADEER late. BALLADEER dueled into the first turn then cleared inner rival and moved inside, took pressure at the half-mile pole, maintained a short lead into deep stretch and yielded grudgingly in the final strides. HENRY ADAMS (IRE) broke a bit slow on the outside, traveled three deep near the back early on, continued outside rivals into the far turn, spun four wide into the lane, tipped out further for a clear run, closed well to get up for third but ran out of time to overtake the top pair. GENIUS JIMMY tracked between rivals and brushed with inner rival into the first turn, chased outside a rival on the backstretch, drew closer on the inside around the far turn, lacked room behind the leaders at the top of the lane, angled in for a clear path but lacked room again midstretch and kept on willingly to the wire. PACKS A WAHLOP showed speed inside BALLADEER then steadied entering the first turn, applied pressure to that rival from outside at the halfway point, dueled around the far turn, fought gamely into deep stretch but could not summon the needed late kick. BODI ZAFA brushed with outer rival into the first turn, coaxed along up the backstretch, hugged the rail to the lane, then came off the fence and kept trying to the wire. SPYCATCHER tracked along the rail then moved to the two path on the clubhouse turn, continued two wide on the second bend and flattened out. LIVING LIFE got bumped back shortly after the start, trailed along the rail early, raced inside rivals on the backstretch, went between rivals at the quarter pole, angled inward in upper stretch and was never a factor. HORCO MOLLE (CHI) raced between rivals near the back, spun three wide into the lane and proved no menace. GRAN ORIENTE (CHI) bumped inner shortly after the start, tracked three deep then outside a rival around the first turn, ridden along still three wide on the second bend and faded.
