START THE RIDE was off a bit slow to begin, settled in the two path, moved to a forward position between rivals in the middle stages, was closest in pursuit turning for home, reeled in the leader at the sixteenth pole and drove clear. SAMMY DAVIS dueled from inside, steadied slightly early on the backstretch, challenged the leader again at the half-mile pole, took over leaving the backstretch, kicked clear on the far turn, showed the way into the final furlong, got run down by the winner with a sixteenth remaining and held second. PAVLOVIAN broke in and bumped, trailed three then two wide around the first turn, steered out widest and moved forward on the backstretch, rounded the far turn five then four wide, produced a mild rally and outkicked CRUISE HOME for the show honors. CRUISE HOME chased from off the pace in the four path on the clubhouse turn, continued four wide into the second bend, angled in to advance between runners then along the rail on the far turn, also summoned a mild rally but was outclosed for third. SMOOVIN SATURDAY stalked outside a rival, pressed three deep on the backstretch, lost ground around the far turn while traveling three then two wide, drifted inward in upper stretch, altered out at the eighth pole and could not rally. FIONELLO tracked outside a pair of rivals around the clubhouse turn, exited the backstretch four deep, angled in a few paths and chased outside a rival into the stretch, then weakened in the lane. ALMOST THERE took a bump at the start, went up to duel from outside, inched ahead early on the backstretch, under pressure from rivals on both sides at the half-mile pole, lost command leaving the backstretch, weakened around the far turn and tired. JOHN METCALFE broke in and bumped with rivals on both sides at the start, pulled into the first turn, drew closer between rivals on the backstretch, got put in tight and checked on the far turn, eased in the lane and walked off. MY BOY STAN stalked the speed along the inside, came under a ride on the backstretch, dropped back on the far turn, eased in the lane and walked off.
