MRS. ASTOR was content to trail the field from inside through the early going, drew closer while continuing to save ground on the final turn, rallied through a tight spot between runners with a furlong remaining, battled with THEBESTISYETTOBE (IRE) in deep stretch and nosed out that rival in a photo finish. THEBESTISYETTOBE (IRE) laid off the pace in the two path, closed in while ridden along on the third turn, chased three wide into the lane, bid four deep in upper stretch, put a head in front with a sixteenth remaining and got nailed by MRS. ASTOR at the wire. SAKURA BLOSSOM threw head at the start to break a bit slow, was closest in pursuit of the leader early while racing keenly in hand, applied pressure to LITTLE HIDDEN PORT (ARG) leaving the clubhouse turn, took the lead dueled up the backstretch, lost command battling head to head on the far turn, regained the advantage in upper stretch, carried a short lead between runners into the final furlong but was outfinished in the last sixteenth. IMA JOKER tracked out of range on the inside, moved into striking distance and eased over to the two path on the final turn, challenged three deep in upper stretch, led briefly midstretch but flattened late. LITTLE HIDDEN PORT (ARG) stepped to the front and set the tone early on the inside, lost command dueling with SAKURA BLOSSOM on the backstretch, regained a narrow lead on the far turn, gave the lead back to SAKURA BLOSSOM in upper stretch, got crowded by MRS. ASTOR and steadied midstretch and was not persevered with after the incident.
