LIAM SMITH sprinted to the front, showed the way along the inside through the turn, led clear to the sixteenth pole, challenged by SHARONS BEACH late and held on. SHARONS BEACH was closest in pursuit in the early going, went two wide around the bend, chased after LIAM SMITH into deep stretch, then dug in late but got denied. GHOSTWRITTEN chased after the leader from off the rail, went three wide around the turn, two wide into the stretch and weakened. MIDNIGHT AMBUSH rubbed the gate and broke inward, lagged behind in the early going, took the turn two then three wide and passed a couple rivals but failed to threaten. SHARONS ANGELS broke in, chased along the inside, two wide leaving the turn and faded. BAY CRUISER broke a step slow, chased two wide into the turn, dropped back around the bend and tired.
