GRAN ORIENTE (CHI) chased three wide into the turn, took aim four wide leaving the turn, dueled outside SPEED BOAT BEACH through the lane and wore that rival down for the victory. SPEED BOAT BEACH dueled from outside then cleared that rival in the early going, angled to the inside on the turn, drifted out crossing the dirt, met the bid from GRAN ORIENTE (CHI), resisted into deep stretch and yielded grudgingly late. SON OF A BIRCH dueled from inside then chased after SPEED BOAT BEACH into the turn, tried to launch a bid between the top pair but lacked room entering the lane, altered to the inside at the top of the stretch and finished evenly for third. ST ANTHONY tracked the pace from inside down the hill, moved out crossing the dirt and weakened. THE TRAINER OF SON OF A BIRCH LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST SPEED BOAT BEACH FOR ALLEGED INTERFERENCE COMING INTO THE STRETCH. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS UNANIMOUSLY RULED THAT THE VIDEO TAPE DID NOT SUBSTANTIATE THE TRAINER'S CLAIM OF FOUL AND THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE.
