ARMY MAN stalked the pace from inside through both turns, challenged from the fence in upper stretch, put ahead in front in midstretch and edged clear late. DINKUM broke in and bumped, stalked in the two path, challenged from outside with a quarter mile remaining, bumped with HOUSE OF MISCHIEF inside the eighth pole, fought three deep into the last sixteenth and got outkicked by the winner. HOUSE OF MISCHIEF stumbled leaving the gate, stepped to the front, challenged by DINKUM with a quarter mile remaining, bumped with that rival past the eighth pole, lost the lead shortly after and got outfinished for second. CHARLIE'S CURLIN tracked along the inside, shifted out and bumped OUT OF THE WOODS into the first turn, chased from off the pace on the inside, tipped out and bumped a rival into the lane and kept on to earn a minor award. PRIME ARTIST (FR) traveled along the inside near the back, raced inside a rival at the rear into the far turn, saved ground through the second bend, tipped out into the lane and improved position. OUT OF THE WOODS reserved along the inside then went between rivals, got sandwiched entering the first turn, traveled three wide then angled in around the bend, asked along the fence on the far turn, ran into traffic and altered out from behind a rival at the top of the lane, then failed to rally in the final furlong. SAHARIAN trailed three then two wide around the clubhouse turn, raced outside a rival into the far turn, cut the corner into the stretch and was never a factor. ESSOS broke a step slow, was hard to ride first time through the stretch, chased four deep around the first turn, chased in the two path on the second bend, got bumped entering the lane and weakened. MENDEL'S TUNE took a light bump leaving the gate, got crowded between rivals early, was knocked sideways while three deep running into the first turn, asked in the two path on the far turn, tipped out for the drive and came up empty. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INVOLVING THE RUN INTO THE FIRST TURN. AFTER A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS UNANIMOUSLY RULED TO DISQUALIFY CHARLIE'S CURLIN FROM FOURTH TO SIXTH FOR SHIFTING OUT AND CAUSING OUT OF THE WOODS TO STEADY INTO THE CLUBHOUSE TURN, COSTING THAT RIVAL A CHANCE AT A BETTER PLACING.
