CAPTAIN SPARROW showed the way under pressure from MISHIEF'S CAUSEWAY, shook free at the quarter pole and stayed clear under a drive to the wire. HORIZON WILDCAT stalked outside a rival, cut to the rail early on the turn, tipped back out at the top of the lane, chased determinedly after the winner through the lane but was only able to hold second. BROADWAY UNIONS raced up close three deep into the turn, remained three wide to the stretch, took aim at the winner racing outside HORIZON WILDCAT but finished evenly late. CUPID'S CRUSADER was off slow to begin and trailed up the backstretch, altered out a bit to go around trouble rival early on the turn, entered the lane in the two path and passed a tired rival in deep stretch. MISCHIEFS CAUSEWAY pressed the pace from outside to the five-sixteenths pole, could not stay with the winner nearing the quarter pole, chased between foes to the stretch and weakened. SPIRITIST chased the top pair inside a rival, drifted and lost his path then took up early on the turn, dropped back to last, drifted out into the lane and could not recover.
