Footnotes
WESTWOOD took control quickly and crossed over to the inside, showed the way while pressured by BARTHOLDY to the outside, held a short lead over rivals on both sides exiting the backstretch, dueled with GETAWAY CAR midway around the far turn, put that rival away late on the bend and stayed under urging to the wire. GETAWAY CAR stalked the top pair from inside, put in a rail bid at the seven-sixteenths pole, fought with WESTWOOD to the quarter pole, failed to match strides with that rival coming into the lane and stayed on for a clear second. BARTHOLDY chased after WESTWOOD into the first turn, drew alongside that rival around the bend, fought three deep into the far turn, lost contact with the leader at the five-sixteenths pole, chased two wide into the lane, weakened in the drive but was able to earn the show honors. GHAZAALY trailed in the two path early, went three wide into the far turn, raced four wide briefly then angled inward approaching the five-sixteenths pole, steered back out approaching the stretch and weakened in the drive. MIDNIGHT MAMMOTH chased along the rail then angled to the three path around the first turn, moved out four wide on the backstretch, dropped back on the far turn, remained in the four path to the stretch and tired.
