NANCI GRIFFITH forwardly placed outside a rival, given her cue turning for home, drew alongside MAYACAMA in upper stretch, put a head in front at the sixteenth pole, brushed with MAYACAMA late and gamely prevailed. MAYACAMA controlled the pace on the inside to the top of the lane, challenged by NANCI GRIFFITH in upper stretch, drifted out a bit, lost command at the sixteenth pole, fought back while brushing with NANCI GRIFFITH late and just missed. QUANTUM INNERGY broke well then quickly dropped back to last and moved inside, exited the backstretch in the two path, gained around the far turn, spun three wide into the lane, rallied outside the top pair and missed. SHE'S A JOKER tracked in the two path around both turns, angled in and launched a rail bid down the lane but failed to summon the needed late kick. APPLE PIE unhurried in the opening stages, rounded the first turn two then three wide, continued in the three path around the far turn and finished evenly late. CALIFORNIA ROCKS pulled along the inside early then settled off the pace, closed in up the backstretch, lost ground around the far turn and lacked a rally. LADY MENDELSSOHN stalked the leader on the inside, came under a ride on the far turn and weakened in the drive.
