CORNUCOPIAN chased from inside then drew closer up the backstretch, tried to launch a bid inside MBAGNICK (CHI) but had to check when lacking room approaching the quarter pole, tried a second time leaving the turn and successfully snuck through along the rail to take over into the lane, kicked clear in upper stretch, maintained a comfortable lead into deep stretch under light coaxing and was asked a bit more in the final fifty yards. RED FLAG settled at the back, passed a rival into the turn, gained while angling five wide around the bend, finished determinedly down the lane but could not reach the winner. MBAGNICK (CHI) showed the way under pressure from SIMPLE SONG to the outside, led along the rail then between runners late on the turn, was overtaken by CORNUCOPIAN turning for home, weakened in the lane but manage to save third. SEE THROUGH IT coaxed along near the back in the early going, trailed four wide into the turn, angled out and had one rival beat six wide entering the lane, churned on down the lane and could not get by MBAGNICK (CHI) for third. R HEISMAN stalked the top pair from off the rail, bid three then four deep on the turn and weakened in the stretch. SIMPLE SONG pressed the pace from outside to the quarter pole, fought three wide into the lane and also weakened. WHISKYGINANDBRANDY tracked three wide into the turn, four wide into the lane and tired.
