Footnotes
RESEMBLANCE stalked a bit off the rail then in the two path around the first turn, chased between on the backstretch, coaxed along two then three wide on the far turn, challenged from outside at the top of the lane, gained the advantage midstretch and carried a short lead over LEYA CANDY to the wire. LEYAS CANDY dueled from outside around the clubhouse turn, cleared inner rival early on the backstretch and over to the rail, took pressure from SPEED GRAZY exiting the backstretch, put that rival away past the quarter pole, challenged by RESEMBLANCE at the top of the lane, resisted to the eighth pole then got outgamed in the final furlong. PASS THE BATON sat off the pace on the inside, drew alongside around the far turn from the rail then two path, tipped out into the lane and gained third. SPEED GRAZY stalked two then three wide outside a rival around the first turn, chased three deep on the backstretch, drew alongside the leader approaching the far turn, failed to keep up with a quarter mile remaining and weakened in the stretch. MANIATIC (IRE) was off slow to begin, lagged behind on the inside, went three wide into the far turn, made progress while angling, came five wide into the stretch and lacked a rally. CONTRARY CHIEFTAIN dueled from inside to the backstretch, chased after the leader with rivals to the outside, saved ground through the far turn and weakened. BIG JUANITO settled outside a rival off the pace, moved into range under coaxing leaving the backstretch, chased three then four wide around the second bend, tired and eased in the furlong grounds and walked off.
