CAPTAIN CHOOCHIES was closest early in the two path, challenged from outside on the far turn, took over past the quarter pole, disposed of T'CHALLA (GB) at the top of the lane while under pressure from CATCH THE BREEZE, turned that rival away past the sixteenth pole and held over a pair of rivals in the end. BALDORO tracked two wide, fell out of range on the backstretch, moved back into striking distance on the far turn, tipped out at the top of the stretch, rallied in the final sixteenth but could not get by the winner. ON THE WHIM got crowded along the fence, not too long after the start then began to pull, continued to tug the rider along around the first turn in the two path, chased between at the five-sixteenths pole, angled out at the top of the lane, put in a late run and missed second. NONE ABOVE THE LAW settled inside, closed in around the far turn, moved out in upper stretch but lacked room behind the leaders, angled to the inside and followed willingly behind CAPTAIN CHOOCHIES to the wire. KOKOSAN reserved in the two path, chased two then three around the far turn, moved in the lane and finished willingly to the wire. CATCH THE BREEZE stalked the speed from inside, tipped three wide at the quarter pole, challenged three deep into the lane, fought outside the winner into the last sixteenth and got turned away. ZALAMO (FR) broke a step slow, lagged behind near the inside early, went three deep into the far turn, split foes at the quarter pole in the two path and was not persevered with in the final furlong. UNCLE HAPPY was off slow to begin, traveled in the three path off the pace, remained three wide through the far turn, trailed into the stretch and passed tired rivals. AMPLITUDE came away a step slow, saved ground near the back of the pack, cut the corner into the lane, moved out and could not make an impact. T'CHALLA (GB) took control and moved inside, showed the way up the backstretch, challenged by the winner on the far turn, lost the lead past the quarter pole and gave way.
