BLACKSMITH was closest in pursuit from the two path around the first turn, challenged from outside early on the second bend, put AUTHENTIC PATRIOT away approaching the eighth pole and drew away. PLAGARIST bumped with OUT OF THE WOODS while chasing three then two wide on the first turn, stayed off the rail then three deep on the backstretch, remained three wide to the stretch, kept on down the lane and got by AUTHENTIC PATRIOT for second. AUTHENTIC PATRIOT took control and moved inside, came under threat from BLACKSMITH on the far turn, maintained a short lead through the bend, yielded to that rival in upper stretch and flattened to third. OUT OF THE WOODS chased along the rail then moved to the two path, bumped with outer rival and steadied off heels around the first turn, went between rivals on the backstretch, chased in the two path still between runners on the far turn and weakened in the drive. EASY COMPANY was prominent early but got put in tight by the leader into the first turn, tracked along the rail to the second bend, started to weaken around the curve and tired.
