LADY OF SKY showed the way up the backstretch, led a bit off the rail while taking pressure around the turn, maintained a short lead into the final furlong, the drew away from the runner-up while drifting out. TAPATIA LEAH was closest in pursuit of the leader from off the rail, bid outside on the turn, stayed alongside to the eighth pole, then got turned away in the late stages. TROPICAL RAIN DAY stumbled leaving the gate, chased off the rail then three deep into the turn, stayed off the rail to the stretch, lacked the needed response to threaten the top pair but kept on to hold third. BRANDON'S GIRL stalked from inside, roused behind the leader at the quarter pole and weakened down the lane. BUDS N SUDS coaxed along near the back, went three wide into the turn, moved into the two path while ridden along and improved position down the stretch. DIXIE ALLURE was off a bit slow and brushed with inner rival, ridden along early at the back, raced four wide outside a rival into the turn, moved into the three path around the bend, tipped back out approaching the stretch and passed tired rivals. KULBIT brushed with inner rival to lose a step at the start, stalked four deep into the turn, chased four to five wide around the bend and tired. FREE NOMINATION sat off the pace in the early going, traveled two wide through the turn and came up empty in the lane.
