SPECIAL FLOWER dueled inside BILLY JOE SHAVER up the backstretch, inched ahead around the turn, maintained a short lead into the final furlong and held gamely over that rival to the wire. BILLY JOE SHAVER dueled from outside, kept the pressure on through the turn, hounded the winner down the stretch but could not get by. NAISMITH stalked from inside, tipped out into the stretch and could not produce a bid. HOT LEGS ROMOLO jumped crossing onto the dirt, stalked off the rail then two wide around the turn, tipped out into the lane and lacked a rally. SIR MAXIMUS jumped onto the dirt but was not cost any momentum, chased off the rail then moved inside, cut the corner into the stretch and failed to rally. BUCKORTWO forwardly placed in the early going from outside, took the turn three wide and weakened down the lane. BIG BET bumped repeatedly with outer rival early, chased two to three wide on the turn, moved out in the drive and failed to menace. BRONKO NAGURSKI tossed his head and broke slow, trailed on the inside into the turn, angled out and came four wide into the lane, lugged inward in the stretch and was never a factor. OOBUBBAKAKAYO bumped repeatedly with BIG BET early, traveled three wide leaving the backstretch, bobbled early on the bend, slipped a bit at the five-sixteenths pole, got moved out to the four path turning for home and could not threaten.
