TOULOUSE DETRAC sprinted clear and set the tone up the backstretch, kicked away on the turn, remained unchallenged to the eighth pole, drifted out through the final furlong while being confronted by ELTONSINGSANOTHER, resisted in deep stretch and was able to hold on after floating that rival out. ELTONSINGSANOTHER was closest in pursuit of the pacesetter from outside, took the turn two then three wide, got floated out while moving up to challenge in the final furlong, latched onto TOULOUSE DETRAC at the sixteenth pole, dug in while continued to be carried out and just missed. MANIAE tracked the speed from off the rail, came four wide into the lane, whittled the gap on the top pair in the final furlong but needed too find more. CORALGABLESKAYLIN chased from off the pace along the rail into the turn, eased out to the three path around the bend and could not rally. TIGER FIRE chased within striking distance to the turn, lost ground around the bend and weakened in the drive. BOTTOM DOLLAR trailed through the early going, came four wide into the lane and was never a factor. THERE WAS AN INQUIRY CONCERNING THE STRETCH RUN BETWEEN THE TOP TWO FINISHERS. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS' RULED UNANIMOUSLY TO DISQUALIFY TOULOUSE DETRAC FROM FIRST TO SECOND FOR DRIFTING OUT NEARING THE WIRE AND COSTING ELTONSHINGSANOTHER A CHANCE AT A BETTER PLACING.
