THE OLD NINE (IRE) showed brief speed between rivals then stalked the top pair up the backstretch, rounded the bend in the two path, tipped out and launched a bid into the lane, drifted in and bumped TAPALO at the eighth pole while gaining command, kicked clear shortly after and won going away. RHYTHEM ON STAGE traveled along the inside at the back, moved to the two path and went outside a rival on the turn, angled out in the lane, rallied and edged BELLY UP for the place. BELLY UP vied inside a pair of rivals then dueled up the backstretch, carried a narrow lead through the turn, lost command in upper stretch, took contact at the eighth pole, could not kick on with the winner in the furlong grounds and lost second late. THREE GEORGES steered to the inside chasing after the leaders, stayed on the fence to the stretch, lost a clear path behind BELLY UP in midstretch and flattened after gaining clear sailing. TAPALO vied three deep then fought outside BELLY UP early, raced on even terms through the bend, put a head in front in upper stretch, got bumped between rivals while losing the lead at the eighth pole and flattened out. EVERYDAYISSATURDAY lacked early speed, trailed outside a rival in the early going, rounded the bend two to three wide and could not make an impact.
