Footnotes
PARNELLI JONES broke well and showed early speed, came in crossing back onto the turn, ceded command to SCORCHING HOT and stalked up the backstretch, chased in the two path on the turn before challenging from outside past the quarter pole, took over between rivals turning for home, showed the way with SIRNAMI to the outside with a furlong remaining, then turned that rival away midstretch and held over the late run from the runner-up. BOOKED CLUBHOUSE unhurried in the opening stages, saved ground through the turn, steered out in upper stretch, came with a late run to gain second but ran out of ground to pass the winner. SIRNAMI tracked two wide into the turn, picked up stride on the turn, challenged three deep exiting the bend, fought outside PARNELLI JONES into the final furlong but was turned away midstretch and yielded second. KING'S RIDE came in and bumped at the start, ridden along in the two path from off the pace into the turn, got shuffled behind a rival around the bend, angled in entering the lane, came back off the fence and kept trying to earn a minor award. TIGHT DALLY laid off the pace on the inside, steered out with a quarter mile remaining and could not rally. TAKE ANOTHER SWING settled outside a rival, came under a ride on the turn, got floated out late on the bend and lacked a rally. COUNTY LINE KID broke well, steadied briefly when outer rival came over crossing back onto the turn, chased from inside into the turn, tipped out at the top of the stretch and weakened. COTTON MOUTH was off slow to begin, raced near the back then inherited last when a rival pulled up, took the turn two to three wide and was never a factor. SCORCHING HOT was reluctant to load behind the gate, broke a step slow then rushed up to take control inside a rival before clearing, challenged past the quarter pole, yielded to outer pair at the top of the lane and gave way. CARL ERSKINE shook his head at the start to lose a step, trailed early then eased at the half-mile pole, eventually pulled up late on the turn and walked off.
