BRITISH ISLES stalked the top pair from off the rail in the early going, challenged three deep between rivals on the backstretch, lost touch with the leader early on the far turn, re-bid three deep with a quarter mile remaining, seized command shortly after, kicked clear in upper stretch and extended the margin under right-handed encouragement and strong handling. VODKA VODKA settled at the back, rounded the first turn three to four wide, bid four deep on the backstretch, could not sustain the challenge early on the far turn, chased four, five, then six wide into the lane, finished willingly through the stretch and edged GETAWAY CAR for second. GETAWAY CAR broke alertly and dueled from outside first time through the stretch, pressed MIDNIGHT MAMMOTH around the clubhouse turn, between rivals on the backstretch, came under a ride on the far turn, could not kick on with the leaders late on the bend, kept on through the lane and got outkicked for the place honors. JUST A TOUCH took a stalking position on the inside, followed the top quartet into the far turn, angled out with a quarter mile remaining, spun five wide into the lane and weakened in the drive. MIDNIGHT MAMMOTH dueled inside GETAWAY CAR then inched ahead on the clubhouse turn, showed the way with a trio of rivals to the outside in the middle stages, maintained a short advantage to the quarter pole, then yielded to BRITISH ISLES shortly after and tired down the lane.
