POTENTE was quick early between rivals then took a stalking position early on the clubhouse turn, traveled three then two wide around that bend, chased outside SECURED FREEDOM through the far turn, spun three wide into the lane, dug in the last sixteenth and got up in time. ROBUSTA showed early foot four deep then stalked the top pair from outside, latched onto the leaders at the half-mile pole, vied three deep around the far turn and put a head in front with a quarter mile left to run, cleared inner rivals in upper stretch, drifted to the inside under right handed urging, switched to the left hand while getting confronted by POTENTE in deep stretch and got nailed at the wire. SO HAPPY dueled from outside BRANT through the early going, fought between rivals around the far turn, yielded to ROBUSTA and POTENTE in the stretch and stayed on to secure third. SECURED FREEDOM chased outside a rival into the first turn, found the rail late on the bend, followed behind BRANT up the backstretch, asked along the fence then two wide on the far turn, moved out in upper stretch and could not summon the needed late kick. BRANT away quickly and fought for the lead inside SO HAPPY, vied with a pair of outer rivals around the far turn, lost command at the quarter pole, could not kick on with the leader into the final furlong and weakened in the late stages. START THE RIDE was off slow to begin, trailed around the clubhouse turn, passed a rival on the backstretch, chased three then four wide on the second bend and weakened in the drive. FLASHY FRITZ tracked along the rail early, dropped back to last on the backstretch, fell further back on the far turn and had little left for the stretch run.
