CONTRARY CHIEFTAIN dueled from outside, inched ahead on the backstretch, put MISCHIEFS CAUSEWAY away early on the far turn and moved over to the rail, asked left handed in upper stretch, switched to the right past the eighth pole and drew away. MOTHER'S PRAYER stalked the top pair from inside, steered off the fence on the backstretch, took aim two wide turning for home, chased determinedly into the final furlong while drifting from the left hand, then flattened in the late stages. MISCHIEFS CAUSEWAY dueled from inside, pressed CONTRARY CHIEFTAIN up the backstretch, failed to keep up with that rival early on the far turn, tipped three wide late on the bend and weakened.
