Footnotes
TAKE A BREATH (GB) traveled in mid-pack outside RESOLVE, moved into range up the backstretch, crept closer three then four deep around the far turn, challenged PUBLIC ASSEMBLY entering the final furlong, seized control in deep stretch and was able to hold off RESOLVE in the closing moments. RESOLVE tracked along the rail from out of range in the early going, crept closer in the middle stages, chased two then three wide on the far turn, tipped out in the lane, closed in and drew alongside TAKE A BREATCH (GB) inside the sixteenth pole, kept gaining to the wire and just missed. MRS. ASTOR was off a bit slow from the outside, allowed to settle after and moved to the two path, chased between runners into the final turn, drew closer while angling to the four path, rallied in tandem with RESOLVE through the stretch but lacked the needed final kick. PUBLIC ASSEMBLY was closest in pursuit in the two path early on, challenged the leader from outside into the far turn, dueled around the bend and put a head in front with a quarter mile remaining, put A THOUSAND MILES away in upper stretch, challenged by TAKE A BREATH (GB) at the eighth pole and yielded to the top trio in deep stretch. PARADISE LAKE stalked from inside, followed behind the leader through the far turn, chased two wide into the drive, had to pause when losing a clear path midstretch and kept trying to the wire. HEY JESSIE laid off the pace on the inside then moved into the two path for the clubhouse turn, chased three wide through the second bend before swing out for the drive and offered a mild response to improve position. QUEEN SIENNA (ARG) stalked outside a rival in the early going, asked in the three path on the far turn, got shuffled behind a rival midstretch and flattened out. A THOUSAND MILES stepped to the front and controlled the pace on the inside, challenged by a rival into the far turn, dueled around the bend, lost command at the quarter pole, could not kick on in upper stretch and weakened in the final furlong. STARRY NIGHT settled off the rail near the back, angled in on the clubhouse turn, remained inside to the stretch and failed to make an impact. IMA JOKER trailed the field on the inside, steered out and advanced three then four deep on the backstretch, started to weaken around the final turn, got floated out into the stretch and had little left for the stretch run.
