Footnotes
COACH CRONIN went to the front and moved inside, took pressure from MICI'S EXPRESS at the halfway point, carried a short lead over a pair of rivals into the far turn, dueled with MICI'S EXPRESS into the lane, then drew off in the final furlong. MICI'S EXPRESS stalked in the two path, latched onto COACH CRONIN at the half-mile pole, fought between rivals into the far turn, hounded COACH CRONIN to upper stretch, then proved no match past the eighth pole but was clearly second best. FIX IT QUICK followed in range in the three path, bid three deep leaving the backstretch, could not keep up with the top pair past the five-sixteenths, flattened in the lane but was a clear third. THE GYPSY COWBOY trailed along the inside around the first turn, fell further back on the backstretch, saved ground to the stretch, moved out in the lane and passed a tired rival. REFOCUS stalked the leader from inside, started to weaken under a ride on the second bend and tired in the lane.
