PRIME ARTIST (FR) reserved well off the top pair in the early going and moved inside, closed in around the far turn, tipped out and set his sights on GALLATIN in upper stretch, surged to the front midstretch under hand urging and drew clear. GALLATIN dueled inside IT'S TIME while opening up on the field, cleared that rival around the far turn, carried a diminishing lead into the final furlong, yielded to the winner midstretch and stayed on for a clear second. SAHARIAN unhurried in the opening stages, saved ground to the stretch, outkicked DREAMRIDER for third but needed to find more to threaten the top pair. DREAMRIDER chased in the two path from off the pace then outside a rival, picked up stride two then three wide on the far turn but failed to threaten down the lane. IT'S TIME dueled from outside to the far turn, could not keep up with the leader around the bend, chased in the two path turning for home and tired. WICKED SPUD was off slow to begin, dropped bar back early, eased then pulled up on the backstretch and walked off.
