Footnotes
WON FOR LOU trailed near the inside into the first turn then angled outside a pair of rivals around the bend, returned to the fence for the far turn, tipped out at the five-sixteenths pole, chased four deep at the quarter pole, took aim three wide turning for home, surged clear in upper stretch while drifting in and drew away while ridden out to the wire. ALLEQUIN SUMMER raced keenly in hand prior to the first turn then drifted out early on the bend, angled back to the two path, traveled in mid-pack up the backstretch, moved into range two then three wide on the second bend, challenged in upper stretch but was no match for the winner in the final furlong. WAVE WITH ENVY reserved in the beginning and taken to the inside, moved into range on the far turn, steered out in upper stretch and gained third. CLASSICO broke in and bumped PUNTO FORTY, took a stalking position next to the rail, followed behind the leader through the far turn, moved out in upper stretch and weakened. PUNTO FORTY took a bump leaving the gate, sprinted to the front from inside, roused on the far turn, yielded when confronted in upper stretch and gave way. CHIEF RESIDENT traveled outside a rival near the back, came under a ride two then three wide on the far turn, steered out at the top of the stretch and failed to menace. AHRENS stalked the lone leader outside a rival, chased between rivals approaching the quarter pole, got crowded late on the bend and faded.
