Footnotes
VANTASTIC traveled in mid-pack along the inside then moved into the two path, moved into range staying in the two path on the far turn, angled out leaving the turn, steered out again in upper stretch, came with a late run and got up in time. AH JEEZ tracked in the two path, drew closer in the middle stages, roused on the far turn, took aim three wide turning for home, challenged in upper stretch, led into the last sixteenth and got nailed in the shadow of the wire. PIONEER PRINCE set the pace under light pressure from JIMMY BLUE JEANS in the early going, took more heat from that rival on the far turn, resisted into the final furlong and yielded grudgingly in the late stages. ZALAMO (FR) reserved in the early going along the inside then moved to the two path, advanced three deep on the far turn, angled out and came five wide into the stretch, steered back to the inside while closing through the lane and rounded out the superfecta. KAWAZAKI (IRE) raced near the back outside a rival then moved inside, saved ground to the five-sixteenths pole, swung out late on the far turn, also angled back to the inside while rallying and got outkicked for a minor award. JIMMY BLUE JEANS applied light pressure to the leader from outside early on, hounded that rival through the far turn, dueled into the stretch, fought between into the final furlong and weakened late. CATHAL (IRE) reserved between rivals in the two path, asked three then four wide on the far turn, drifted inward in the lane and had to take up late. HOTROCKET (IRE) was off a bit slow to begin, raced three deep around the first turn, chased between into the second bend, turned into the lane three deep and failed to menace. RUSSELLS HUSTLE unhurried in the beginning and moved inside, got boxed in at the quarter pole, tipped two wide into the lane and could not make an impact. JEWELED SHILLELAGH stumbled laving the gate, stalked from inside, asked along the fence around the far turn and weakened. J T'S WATCH tracked from inside out of range of the pacesetter, started to weaken on the far turn and tired in the lane. MANIATIC (IRE) dwelt at the start and came away very slow, lagged behind to the stretch and never got involved.
