HOLDTHATRAINBOW tracked the top pair up the backstretch, gained while easing off the fence around the end, took aim three wide turning for home, closed in while drifting inward midstretch, challenged three deep late and edged inner pair for the score. CHRISTA MCAULIFFE settled off the pace, made progress from the fence then in the two path around the turn, rallied up the rail in the final furlong and got outclosed by the winner while getting by SHE'S NO QUANT for the place. SHE'S NO QUANT pressed from inside then headed outer rival at the half-mile pole, edged clear around the bend, showed the way into the final furlong but got run down by the top pair in deep stretch. MIDNIGHT COWGIRL showed the way early outside SHE'S NO QUANT then fought on even terms at the half-mile pole, lost command but stayed with that rival to the quarter pole, could not keep up into the stretch and flattened to fourth. RISKY PLEASURE took a bad step crossing onto the dirt, raced outside a rival from off the pace, remained two wide through the turn and failed to rally. MELBA MONTGOMERY was off slow from the far outside, angled in chasing from off the pace, hugged the rail to the stretch and also lacked a rally. LITTLE GATOR was off a bit slow to begin, lacked early speed, took the turn two wide and was never a factor. KITTY MAC broke slow and inward to start, trailed inside a rival into the turn, remained on the fence to the stretch and could not make an impact.
