Footnotes
LONESOME STEW pressed the pace from outside, headed the leader at the quarter pole, cleared in upper stretch, showed the way into the final sixteenth, came under threat from the runner-up late but was able to hold. SEPTEMBERSIXTYFOUR bobbled slightly at the start but still came away with the field, tracked in the two path, moved out and came four wide into the stretch, chased determinedly into the final sixteenth, then dug in late to reel in the leader but could not get by. RE ARMED JON showed the way with LONESOME STEW applying pressure to the outside, headed by that rival at the quarter pole, yielded in upper stretch and kept trying to secure third. KING STEPHEN stalked three deep into the turn, spun five wide off the bend and lacked the needed response. ON THE WHIM tracked from inside into the turn, quickly moved off the rail, traveled three deep at quarter pole, lacked room and steadied when boxed in shortly after, trailed into the stretch and improved position. BRO BRO raced up close on the inside, saved ground down the hill and weakened when called upon. SIR ROCKET tracked in the two path, chased four deep at the quarter pole, angled out and exited the dirt six wide and failed to rally down the lane.
