TAKE A BREATH (GB) stalked three deep through the opening stages, challenged GRAND SLAM SMILE at the five-sixteenths pole, fought on even terms entering the final furlong, seized control midstretch and gamely prevailed over rivals on both sides. MAY DAY READY reserved in the two path early, moved into range in the middle stages, crept closer three deep on the far turn, challenged the top pair from outside with a sixteenth remaining, dug in gamely to earn second but could not get by the winner. GRAND SLAM SMILE vied for the lead three deep then dueled outside ROSIE JEEKS into the backstretch, cleared that rival and crossed to the inside, met the bid from TAKE A BREATH (GB) at the five-sixteenths pole, resisted into the final furlong and yielded grudgingly in the late stages. TIRUPATI showed early speed inside a pair of rivals then ceded command on the first turn, suffered a mild shuffle early on the backstretch, was lightly coaxed then had to pause and wait for room behind ROSIE JEEKS around the far turn, found a clear path and was given her cue in upper stretch, came off the rail a bit late and finished well between rivals. A THOUSAND MILES stalked between rivals or in the two path, got crowded a bit past the three-eighths pole, remained two wide to the stretch, finished willingly down the lane and had to steady a bit when running up on heels late. WATCHTOWER trailed two wide then along the rail on the first turn, went outside on the backstretch, advanced three deep on the far turn, tipped out for a clear run in the lane but finished evenly late. RIPASSARE unhurried early on and was guided over to the rail, crept closer in the middle stages, tipped two wide at the quarter pole, moved out in the lane and failed to threaten. INNOVATIVE settled inside, steadied behind a rival TIRUPATI on the backstretch, chased two wide between runners into the far turn, spun three wide into the lane and could not rally. ROSIE JEEKS vied between rivals into the first turn then dueled inside GRAND SLAM SMILE, took a stalking position early on the backstretch, saved ground to the stretch and weakened.
