Footnotes
KOOL MARIAH set the pace under pressure from TAKING A JOY RIDE, came under a ride at the five-sixteenths pole, maintained a short lead into the final furlong, edged clear from outer rival midstretch and was kept busy to the wire. TAKING A JOY RIDE took some contact from outer rival shortly after the start, dueled from outside into the first turn then pressed KOOL MARIAH to upper stretch, could not summon the needed late kick in the final furlong but was clearly second best. HUMIDITY tracked from inside, drew closer around the far turn, hugged the rail to the stretch, could not produce a bid down the lane but was able to outkick MAGGLES MCGEE for the show honors. MAGGLES MCGEE shifted out and bumped TATE BATZ before the first turn, followed in range from the two path, loomed three deep on the far turn and flattened in the final furlong. BIG MISS tucked inside trailing early, passed a rival midway up the backstretch, gained ground still next to the fence on the far turn, moved off the rail in upper stretch and could not rally. LITTLE GATOR traveled near the back of the field on the inside early, came off the rail on the backstretch, trailed at the midway point, found the rail again on the far turn, passed a tired rival at the top of the stretch but proved no menace. TATE BATZ came in to brush TAKING A JOY RIDE in the beginning, got bumped by MAGGLE MCGEE prior to the first turn, stalked in the three path outside that rival, chased four wide briefly on the far turn before moving back inward and tired down the lane.
