Footnotes
AMERICAN HOPE broke out, reserved in the early stages, moved to the inside for the clubhouse turn, gained two, three, then four wide on the far turn, tipped out further in the lane, rallied five deep into deep stretch and proved best late. HENRY ADAMS (IRE) followed in range from inside, coaxed closer around the far turn, rallied next to the fence, challenged the leader with a sixteenth remaining and got outclosed by the winner. CENTRODELANTERO took control quickly and moved inside, set all the pace to the stretch, showed the way clear into the final furlong, came under threat from rivals on both sides in the last sixteenth and could not hold on. WATSONVILLE broke out and bumped, settled in the two path, crept closer between rivals in the middle stages, took aim three wide into the stretch, rallied between runners in the final furlong but got outkicked. NAMARON (GER) got bumped leaving the gate, moved to the two path laying off the pace, drew closer on the backstretch, got shuffled from the three-eighths pole to the five-sixteenths marker, moved inward then got floated out into the lane, angled out wider in the stretch and finished well to share a minor award. CHARLIE'S TO BLAME was closest in pursuit early while a bit off the rail, came under a ride in the two path on the far turn, chased determinedly through the lane but lacked the needed final kick. TEMPUS VOLAT stumbled at the start, raced in the two path towards the rear, went three deep into the far turn, suffered a mild shuffle between the three-eighths pole and five-sixteenths marker, angled to the inside, came back out turning for home, kept trying down the lane but needed to find more. GROGU pulled along the inside early, settled off the pace, cut into the margin on the backstretch, moved into range on the far turn while shifting to the two path at the quarter pole, set down at the top of the lane but finished evenly late. CRAZY CAVALIER got knocked into outer rival in the beginning, trailed on the inside and passed a tired rival. PHOSPHORESCENCE (FR) stalked outside a rival in the opening stages, exited the backstretch three deep, lost positions around the bend and got moved out to the five path, then faded in the drive.
