Footnotes
DAKOTA COUNTRY traveled near the back in the opening stages, angled to the inside, tipped three wide around the bend, angled out widest in upper stretch, closed in fast from outside and overhauled DONCIC late. DONCIC stalked the top trio up the backstretch, went three wide around the bend, rallied to the front midstretch and got run down by the winner approaching the wire. THE OLD NINE (IRE) chased the leaders from off the rail, took the turn two to three wide, moved out in the lane, finished well but was outkicked by the top pair. MUBTADAA vied for the lead inside a pair of rivals, inched ahead on the turn, cleared at the top of the stretch, challenged by DONCIC past the eighth pole and lost command shortly after, then weakened in the last sixteenth but as able to earn a minor award. COMMANDER (FR) raced in mid-pack and moved inside, saved ground through the turn, came out in upper stretch, kept trying in the final furlong but needed to find more. CATHAL (IRE) coaxed along in the early going from off the pace, angled in for the turn, had to pause when lacking room along the fence behind SPECIAL CLUB midway around the bend, continued on the inside to the stretch and kept trying through the lane but was unable to threaten. SHORTMAN was off slow to begin, trailed on the inside, moved out in upper stretch, then showed some late effort while having to alter out a bit late. HACKING IT UP vied three deep up the backstretch and around the turn, remained close up outside the leader into the lane, then weakened in the late stages. ITS A CINCH vied for the lead between rivals to the quarter pole, could not keep up with the top pair into the lane, chased within range into the final furlong and weakened in deep stretch. SPECIAL CLUB settled off the rail in the early going, raced two wide then on the fence around the turn and weakened in the stretch.
