POCKET VENUS pressed the pace from outside, took over with a quarter mile remaining, put SEXY BLUE away at the top of the stretch and was kept to task through the final furlong. SEXY BLUE showed the way under pressure from POCKET VENUS, came under a ride on the turn, lost command at the quarter pole, yielded to the winner at the three-sixteenths pole and stayed on for a clear second. ANGEL BABY chased from out wide in the opening stages, put in a mild bid four deep on the turn, chased after the leaders three wide into the lane, flattened in the stretch but was able to edge LADY GAMBITA for third. LADY GAMBITA followed in range up the backstretch, asked three deep then two wide into the lane, flattened out in the stretch and missed third. HONEY BUCKET broke a step slow, moved up quickly to stalk the behind the leader, fell back to last still within striking distance on the turn and weakened in the drive.
