THE BIG CHEESEOLA sped clear from inside, opened up a comfortable lead leaving the backstretch, showed the way near the fence around the turn, drifted out through the lane and held well over the runner-up. WINDRIBBON was closest in pursuit of the leader up the backstretch, followed in the two path around the turn, loomed from outside into the final furlong, got floated out by the leader before angling in late and lacked the needed late punch. MORELLO traveled inside a pair of rivals near the back into the turn, drew closer around the turn, edged ALPINE THUNDER for third but was no match for the top pair. ALPINE THUNDER tracked off the rail out of range early, went three wide around the bend, chased within striking distance at the eighth pole, lacked a late bid and got edged for third. NAVAL HARBOR trailed on the inside into the turn, moved to the two path around the bend, angled out for the drive and was never a factor. WICKLOW HILLS raced three deep towards the rear leaving the backstretch, moved into the two path late on the bend and weakened. MELANIE'S TIGER chased from off the pace between rivals into the turn, moved out to the four path around the bend and was never a factor.
